Mind The Heart

♥EBENEZER♥

Matthew and I were blessed to spend a few working days at the beach before our last trip in the Midwest. Those few short days became more precious than we could have ever anticipated. Revelations, sunrises, and restworks were the primary agenda items. God delivered in each area beyond what we could have ever thought or asked!

The morning before we were set to leave the beach I wanted to pick up a few shells (I had my heart set on a conch shell). During our “shelling” time two miracles took place. FullSizeRender(1) Matthew found a whole conch shell on Wrightsville Beach (apparently this is a rare occurrence for this particular beach). Luckily, a major storm had come through during our stay and it washed up this beautiful answer to prayer.

(2) I found a heart-shaped piece of coral… I was immediately taken back to the powerful vision God had given me during the journey into my heart (earlier in the year). I believe that finding such a special piece, in the sand, after a storm, away from home, was one of God’s ways of tenderly encouraging me that as I endure, The Great Physician is working.

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.” 1 Samuel 7:12

♥PRAISE REPORT♥

I recently visited my new Dr. again in Detroit. It was a wonderful follow up after my first experience in January (shared in The Patient Heart). During the visit, my test results kept coming out better than the Dr. expected. He kept saying things like, “We don’t see results like this…” or “Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it…” and “Were you meditating during that test?”!

I truly give all thanks, praise, and glory to GOD! He stepped in immediately and before I took a single supplement or made a lifestyle change Deliverance was underway.

♥HEART-HALE♥

Matthew and I have both been called to a life of Rest. In this area, Matthew has been given authority and grace to experience and teach on many aspects of Rest. (We expect to release his book on this topic this year, YAY!) One key component to living a life out of the person of Rest (Jesus), is taking thoughts captive. About five years ago Matthew and I were new friends and he shared something with me that changed my life. He told me I could “STOP THINKING!” In all honesty, I didn’t think this was possible… Now, not only do I know better, God has continued to teach us both how to not-think.

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… Proverbs 23:7

Yesterday morning Matthew and I were taking a moment over FaceTime to not-think together. As we quieted our minds and released ourselves from holding on to passing, random, or stray thoughts, Holy Spirit showed me something new. He directed my energy to my heart and encouraged me to try exhaling through it. More quickly than ever before, when my focus was on the breath of my heart all thoughts ceased and immediate peace came over me. Rather than inhaling and exhaling through my natural lungs and exercising self control to take thoughts captive, HS invited me to heart-hale: release my mind’s energy through my heart.

♥THE MIND OF CHRIST♥

And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. Colossians 1:18

Holy Spirit explained that to “BE STILL & KNOW” (bringing every thought under the authority of Christ) I HAD to be connected to, aligned and in coherence with the mind of Christ. Essentially, my head must be replaced as I surrender to the design of the Creator & work of the Spirit in bringing me to the fullness of the Body-part I was intended to be.

In natural terms: by releasing my thoughts and allowing my essence to flow through my heart I became positioned for peace. In spiritual terms: by repenting and allowing the breath of life to move through my heart I became aligned with the Person of Truth.

I have much to learn about how the body, soul, and spirit interact. I have even more to learn about how they interact in light of Adonai and the restoration of all things.  Yet, when I began to breath as if through my heart, I experienced what I can only describe as a kaleidoscopic alignment wherein my impression of the Lord was quickened.

Give it a try ♥

  1. Matthew’s instructions to me to “STOP THINKING” were revolutionary in teaching me how to approach the Lord. On my 18 day sabbatical from Ohio to the Oregon shore last year, my goal was to just listen to the Lord daily with my notebook in one hand and sometimes the steering wheel in the other! What an incredible change in relationship I have experienced with the Lord! Thank Matthew for the teaching and Lindsay for putting it in writing!
